Portrait of Professor Herlinde Pauer-Studer

14.11.2022

Herlinde Pauer-Studer is professor of Practical Philosophy and Ethics. In the following posting she introduces the main focus and results of her work in this field.

My research interests are in Ethics, Political Philosophy, and Legal Philosophy. I am particularly interested in morally distorted political and legal systems. Accordingly, part of my research has focused on the normative and legal transformations in National Socialism.

See my book „Justifying Injustice. Legal Theory in Nazi Germany“ (Cambridge University Press, 2020). See also the book (co-authored with J. David Velleman), „Weil ich nun mal ein Gerechtigkeitsfanatiker bin“. Der Fall des SS-Richters Konrad Morgen (Suhrkamp 2017).

Currently, I am working on a book on relational morality and group agency.
