Faculty Facts

The Faculty of Philosophy and Education consists of about 340 staff working in research and education, and 30 support staff, and offers undergraduate, graduate, as well as doctoral programmes to more than 8500 students in three departments, Philosophy, Education, and Vienna Circle Institute.

The Faculty successfully combines teaching and research and its 340 academic staff are responsible for two Bachelor Programmes (about 4100 students), five Master Programmes (about 1000 students), four PhD Programmes (500 students), as well as the subject Psychology-Philosophy (about 2900 students) in cooperation with the Faculty of Psychology.

More than 20 third-party-funded-projects contribute to the Faculty’s research output in key research areas and thematic areas as defined in the Development Plan 2020.
