Institute Vienna Circle

The Institute Vienna Circle (IVC) is part of the Faculty of Philosophy and Education. The IVC stands in the tradition of the historical "Vienna Circle". In this sense, the IVC supports philosophical research projects that respond critically and constructively to issues arising in the individual sciences. A further important agenda of the IVC is the integration of different disciplines focused on relevant sciences (philosophy, history, sociology). The IVC is also dedicated to the documentation, reconstruction and further development of logical empiricism. It closely cooperates with the Department of Philosophy (especially the professorship of Philosophy of Science) and the "Vienna Circle Society". The IVC houses various research projects, a series of books and a yearbook as well as notable editing projects.
