Call for Application "Feminism and the Philosophy of Language"

A Summer Reading School for women* students, organized by philosophy students.

Summer School taking place July 23rd – 28th, 2018 in Vienna
Application Deadline: March 30th, 2018

The event has the goal to bring international women* philosophy students from different schools and traditions, with different academic, national, cultural, ethnic, religious, political etc. backgrounds and in different stages of their studies (from early undergrad to early PhD) together to read, discuss and learn with and from each other.

The special feature of this Summer School is the "Close Reading" sessions, in which participants will read together, in small groups, or individually. Each reading session will be followed by a "Discussion Session", in which the texts will be analyzed and critically discussed. In addition, we have invited several women* researchers to give public evening lectures on the intersection of Feminism and the Philosophy of Language:

Dr. Helen Daly (Assistant Professor of Philosophy, Colorado College)
Prof. Marina Sbisà (Professor of Philosophy, University of Trieste)
Dr. Lynne Tirrell (Associate Professor of Philosophy, University of Connecticut)
